My Story
Camila Oliveira’s musical path began in Itu, São Paulo, Brazil, where music festivals, community ensembles, and symphonic bands shaped her earliest artistic sensibilities. Immersed in a culturally rich environment, she developed a deep curiosity for sound, collaboration, and musical storytelling.
These formative experiences led her to the Conservatório Dramático e Musical Dr. Carlos de Campos de Tatuí, where she strengthened her technical foundation and participated in international festivals, including a scholarship-supported summer program in Italy. There, encounters with diverse musical traditions expanded her artistic vision and nurtured her versatility as a flutist.
She went on to earn a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the Universidade Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), studying under Savio Araújo. During this period, Camila discovered a strong affinity for chamber music and collaborative creation. Alongside her academic studies, she served as principal flutist of the Banda Municipal de Cosmópolis and worked as a music educator in Campinas, sharing her passion with other musicians.
Her artistic practice also embraced interdisciplinary projects, including composing arrangements and performing mantras, reflecting an openness to contemplative and experimental musical paths.

Camila continued her training at the Escola Municipal de Música de São Paulo (EMMSP), where she studied flute with José Ananias. This phase of her development inspired her to pursue graduate studies abroad. She holds a Master of Music in Performance from Portland State University, where she studied with Dr. Sydney Carlson.
During her time in the United States, she engaged in projects intertwining music with community safety initiatives and the promotion of works by female composers, deepening her commitment to music as both an artistic and social practice.
Beyond performance and pedagogy, Camila’s work extends into production and community-based artistic initiatives.
Her commitment to fostering community connections through music is evident in her role as creator and producer of “12 Notes to Healing,” a project developed in partnership with a Campus Public Safety Office (CPSO). Through musical performances and facilitated dialogue, the initiative creates spaces for listening, trust, and human connection within academic communities.
Now based in Montreal, Canada, Camila recently completed a DEPA (Diplôme d’études professionnelles approfondies) at the Université de Montréal. She is a licensed Body Mapping Educator (LBME), integrating somatic awareness and anatomical understanding into her artistic and pedagogical work. Deeply concerned with the health and sustainability of artistic practice, she currently serves as Vice-President (2026–2028) of the Rede Brasileira de Saúde do Artista (RBSA), contributing to the promotion of artist health and well-being in Brazil.
Camila Oliveira continues to balance her work as a flutist and educator, guided by a holistic vision of musicianship, one that honors artistic excellence, embodied awareness, and meaningful human connection.
