Camila Oliveira is an educator deeply committed to empowering students to express themselves through music, with the flute serving as both a musical instrument and a tool for personal discovery. She approaches teaching with the belief that music nurtures self-awareness, empathy, and a meaningful connection with others and with the surrounding environment.
Her pedagogical work emphasizes that learning music extends far beyond technical proficiency. Through her teaching, students develop skills that support their broader growth, including organization, discipline, attentive listening, and embodied awareness. As a Licensed Body Mapping Educator (LBME), Camila integrates somatic education into her lessons, guiding students toward healthy, sustainable, and expressive music-making.
Camila has taught music in public secondary schools in Québec and currently teaches at the primary level within the public school system in Montreal. She is also part of the teaching faculty at LUMI at the Université de Montréal, where she continues to share her artistic and pedagogical expertise in an academic setting. Alongside her institutional work, she offers private flute lessons both in person and online, working with students of diverse ages and backgrounds.
Her teaching experience includes work at institutions such as Instituto Musical Jacaré and Escola Pontuada in Brazil, as well as extensive activity as a private teacher. Camila has led workshops and masterclasses focused Body Mapping for Musicians, including a workshop at the Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB).
Camila’s educational practice is guided by a strong belief in music as a catalyst for social awareness and community building. She sees the act of making music as inherently relational, one that encourages students to listen deeply, care for themselves and others, and imagine more connected and compassionate communities through artistic practice.
